Privacy policy
Last updated: August 29, 2026
This privacy policy explains how Element Seven (“we”, “us”) collects and uses information when you visit athena.elementseven.co or start an Athena subscription.
What we collect
- Account details you provide (name, email, company, website)
- Billing information processed by Stripe (we do not store full card numbers)
- Technical logs such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited
- Communications you send to us about Athena
How we use it
- To create and manage your Athena subscription
- To contact you about onboarding and support
- To improve the Athena marketing site and product experience
- To meet legal and accounting obligations
Sharing
We use trusted processors such as Stripe for payments and hosting providers for this website. We do not sell your personal data.
Connected mailboxes
If you connect a support mailbox, Athena reads the messages in it so it can draft replies, sends only the replies you have approved, and applies labels so the mailbox stays usable. It never deletes a message and never sends anything without a person approving it first.
Those messages contain personal data belonging to the people who emailed you — and, depending on your business, may include sensitive information. For that data you are the controller and Element Seven is your processor. We process it only to operate the service for you, we do not use it to train models, and we do not share it beyond the LLM provider you have configured. Access tokens are encrypted at rest, and disconnecting a mailbox revokes our access to your Google account immediately.
Before connecting a mailbox you are asked to confirm you are authorised to do so and that you agree to these terms. We record who agreed and when.
Athena's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Gmail data to train generalised models, we do not sell it, and we do not allow humans to read it except where you have asked us to, where it is necessary for security or to comply with the law, or where the data has been aggregated and anonymised.
Retention
We keep account and billing records for as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterwards as required by law.
Conversations — from the chat widget and from any connected mailbox — are kept for the retention period set on your account, then deleted permanently. Disconnecting a mailbox stops any further processing; message content already stored is removed on the same retention schedule, or sooner on request.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Contact us at [email protected].
